Gladys DeCoteau

Gladys (Damm) DeCoteau, 91, a longtime resident of Culbertson, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson.

She was born on a farm north of Brockton on March 14, 1927, to Jacob and Clara Damm. She was raised and educated north of Culbertson where her father farmed.
On Sept. 21, 1945, she married Louie J. DeCoteau in Sidney. From this union, four children were born.
She had many interests and hobbies, including traveling with her husband, visiting family and friends, dancing to country music, singing, yodeling, fishing, camping, agate-picking and playing bingo. She was an excellent bread-maker and member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Louie DeCoteau of Stoney Point, N.C., Robert DeCoteau of Culbertson, Joyce Cotter of Laurel and Jo Ann Fetzer of Garrison; two sisters, Donna Cone of Minnesota and Hazel Diver of Wisconsin; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Louie; brothers, Earl and Verl Damm; and sisters, Helen Lambert and Betty Moore.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Culbertson. Burial will follow at Friedens Gemeinde Cemetery, north of Culbert-
son. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
