Irvin Davidson

Irvin Gene Davidson, 81, of Williston, N.D., died Thursday evening, April 18, 2019, at his home.

He was born Aug. 10, 1937, to Leonard and Ida Davidson in Roberts County, Sisseton, S.D. He was raised on the family farm and attended school at Gilbertson Rural School. He ventured to Froid in 1955 to work for his uncles. He also worked for Jacobsen Construction.
On Jan. 17, 1959, he married Norma Svendsen. To this union, three children were born, Laroy Gene, Debra Jean and Lavonne Jeanette. In 1963, they moved from Froid to White Earth, N.D. In 1969, their final move was to Williston, N.D.
He was always known as a very hard worker. In his younger years, he worked construction and was a grain buyer for G.T.A. In Williston, he worked at Gambles store and then owned his own business, Irv’s Family Furniture.
He had a fun sense of humor and his favorite pastime was teasing anyone and everyone at any time. He enjoyed playing cards, golf and keeping his yard green and neat.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; and son, Laroy.
He is survived by his daughters, Debra Jean Conlin of Minot, N.D., and Lavonne Jeanette Walker of West Fargo, N.D.; brothers, James, Larry and Dale; and two granddaughters.
His funeral service was held Tuesday, April 23, at Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Williston, N.D. Pastor Sheri Crane officiated. Interment was in the family lot in Riverview Cemetery.
